Dalai Lama, being GeekWire’s Geek of the Week and speaking at the White House. He has worked with hundreds of startups and dozens of bands, Fortune 100 companies, non-profits and government officials. He believes that anytime on the water is time well spent and what matters most is family, friends and making a difference when and where you can.

Co-Organizer, New Tech Northwest. After photographing events, head shots, products and company lifestyles, Briana got involved with startups early on. In love with the idea of being able to work almost anywhere (thanks, internet!) you can find her either traveling abroad to discover new locations, or in the comfort of the mountains. It’s her life mission to find and photograph a unicorn… after all, that would be pretty amazing.
Marketing and Communications Director, New Tech Northwest. Business, and Technical Communications Specialist who loves working with innovative companies to shape brand stories into compelling messages that attract new customers and clients using persuasive writing, deep research and thoughtful interviews. Kat is also a shameless foodie lucky enough to have called San Francisco, Seattle and Boulder home.
Program Manager, New Tech Northwest. A bilingual, self-described geek and jack-of-all-trades, Xavier has spent time traveling the world to learn how it ticks. Having grown up in Miami, where he obtained a MBA in International Business from FIU, Xavier likes to come up with solutions to what-if scenarios and issues people are having. Now living in Seattle, he’s exploring what the city, and surrounding areas, have to offer.
Registration Director, New Tech Northwest. Self-taught full-stack web developer with a degree in Creative Writing been who’s been building web content for 20 years. Besides being known for his work as a Developer Evangelist at Amazon and Lead Organizer at Seattle CoderDojo, Greg is also known for the urban legend he accidentally created in 1997 that continues to end up in inboxes and Facebook feeds (like George Takei’s in May 2015).
Co-Organizer, New Tech Tacoma. A fan of all things Tech, this NYC transplant calls Tacoma his new home. Richard enjoys connecting with new people to learn as much as he can about the local tech environment. His favorite hobby is proving to himself that he can learn more than he knew yesterday and sharing that newfound knowledge with his newfound friends.
Co-Founder, NewTech PDX (NTNW Affiliate) Thubten is a serial tech entrepreneur, new media publisher, international public speaker, and tech community organizer. He began his tech marketing career at Apple Computer in 1990, where he realized his path was to help ordinary people maximize their use of technology. Thubten is very active in the Pacific Northwest’s startup community and has been a Tibetan Buddhist teacher since 1997.
Co-Organizer, New Tech PDX (NTNW Affiliate) From intern to founder, Tyler has been working in startups for almost a decade. Tyler has experience across the country in incubators, accelerators and conferences as a mentor and originally, a participant. Tyler is an ambassador for Highway1, an advisor for several startups, and active in the startup community along the West Coast, including co-organizing Portland’s monthly NewTech PDX events.
Brand Engagemancer, New Tech Northwest (Sponsor Presence Sizzle Coach) Lisa Weeks is a cyborg composite of 20 years marketing experience in the retail/entertainment/digital media industries. Prior to her work in the Seattle startup community via GeekWire and Keiretsu Forum, Lisa has worked with Nordstrom, Lucas Arts, Cartoon Network, Disney, Mattel and Microsoft. Lisa’s award-winning product development, merchandising and cosplay costume design work have been featured in Vogue, Lucky, NewType and InStyle magazines. She is an accomplished speaker and presenter, most notably “The Economy of Weird” from TEDxSeattle 2013, and is currently the organizer for the Seattle Game Developers Meetup.
