Anne Marie Ou

I am a Data Scientist with an engineering background. My technical career began with a process engineering role at one of the nation’s largest and integrated manufacturing site at ExxonMobil. I value learning about the business from the production perspective. I sought out a production role in order to immerse myself in a fast paced environment with many opportunities to interface with different work groups. After, I transitioned to the supply chain planner role at Dow Chemical for polyethylene supporting North America operations with demand and supply at warehouses, as well as exports with Asia Pacific and Latin America. I am very interested in corporate sustainability and performance metrics. I have built statistical models with python and used Amazon Web services/Spark to process large data sets. Managing supply chain projects and analyzing different types of data sets are fascinating and I have enjoyed projects with cost savings that usually present opportunities to be environmentally sensitive. I have a strong interest in sustainability strategies and am always seeking to learn more. Outside of work I am passionate about scuba diving (dove South Thailand, Great Barrier Reef, Fiji, Japan, and Colombia) traveling, and learning about different cultures. I recently returned in 9/2017 from a self-funded sabbatical, which included work with Engineers without Borders, study at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and extensive hiking. My objective is for my current training in language and industry to be useful in a role where I can interact with diverse work groups, especially different cultures. Opportunities where I can potentially speak Spanish excite me as well.
