I remember the first time I knew that a piece of content I wrote and published had an impact on someone. I received two lovely, heartfelt, hand-written letters in response to an article I wrote in an independent magazine I worked on. I felt such responsibility, such power. A conversation had begun. I’ve been hooked ever since. Using this experience as my guide, I have sought out a variety of ways to reach people through content and content experiences. Whether it’s telling a story or providing UI text within a product interface, I start with the customer and assess the complete journey at hand. It’s not just about the right words, you see, it’s also about where and when those words appear. I’ve always been interested in delivering into new media. I have led teams to move from print to ongoing publishing on the web, to deliver an early mobile website to reach the emerging audience there, and to produce the first ever live and fully interactive television experiences with second-screen companion content.
