K-12 Coding • 2015

Full-Stack Ruby on Rail application using SQLite, HTML, and CSS.  This application was pair-programed from scratch with one other person in just three days.  Designed to help students learn to code, while also benefiting the school as the school website.  Students can log in and change the HTML content as well as CSS styling, in a controlled environment.  It includes: templates for the content, login and registration with security, database, and ability to edit and update.

 

LifeRM • 2015

Personal Contact Relationship Manager (CRM) application built using Node.js, MongoDB, JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML, and CSS.  Developed solo, from scratch, including coming up with the idea, in just 3 days as a class project.

 

VagabondDancers.com • 2013

Developed a full-stack application to help connect dancers to dance events across the country.  Built using PHP, MySQL, HTML, and CSS.  This was a solo project before any formal training, as a hobby, to make an idea into a reality.  With only experience in HTML and CSS previous to this, self-taught PHP and MySQL database normalization and design as well as quick and efficient queries to pull information out the database.  It includes a database, user and separate admin interface with login and registration, and ability to add and search events. Will be re-coding this project, now that new techniques have been learned.

 

EDUCATION
Coding Dojo • Bellevue, WA

First woman to receive a Black Belt at Coding Dojo, and graduated with a Double Black Belt, the highest level of achievement attained by the top 5% of attendees.  Developed and progressed skills across three full stacks: LAMP, MEAN, and Ruby on Rails.  Learning all components of Front and Back End Development.  Logged over 1250 hours of intensive coding in just three months.  Able to develop multipage applications from scratch in each stack in under 4 hours.

 

University of Hawaii at Hilo • Hilo, HI

Completed almost three years of undergrad coursework pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences and Mathematics.  Passionate about how things fit together, and a strong curiosity to learn.  Intended to become a teacher to help students understand the sciences and mathematics.  Left due to a medical family emergency that required full time care.
