Consulting creates a safe, supportive, powerful space
Getting executive consulting turns down the noise so you can see your life from a more soulful and clear perspective. This is your chance to get grounded in what matters most to better connect with the world, create new skills and discover new meaning in your experiences.
The point of executive consulting is to more objectively assess the emotions and motivations that drive your decisions, actions and reactions. By dedicating time and work to the deeper questions you have you’ll develop insights and strengths that are otherwise ignored.
You can transform through exploring the essence behind and beneath how you’re living, working and leading. When we alter the direction of the energy you’re focusing on fear and pain, you’ll release your concealed talents and open new capabilities.
An executive consulting relationship is based on respect, understanding, trust and alignment. There is a balance between unconditional support and usefully confronting beliefs and actions that are holding you back. You have to be comfortable with the relationship we develop to move you forward on this path.
My Background and Philosophies
My perspectives are based on an eclectic life. I’ve been meditating since high school when I also began my music industry career as a college radio DJ. In college, while studying business and marketing, I started my first business. It was a mobile disc jockey company that grew through my community influence as the Music Director and then Program Director of KUNV radio.
At the age of 20 I was managing, inspiring and motivating a team of 72 people. My positions at the radio station allowed me to build a very large community around music, similar to New Tech’s community based around technology and innovation.
This led to moving to Los Angeles for a job at Geffen Records. Throughout 15 years in the music industry I was fortunate to work in radio and for record labels including Sire, Radioactive, and I.R.S. in the MCA/Universal Music Group.
It was a fun and interesting time working with artists including Jane’s Addiction, Nine Inch Nails, Deborah Harry, The Go-Go’s, Live, Da Da, The Ramones, Public Enemy, The Beastie Boys, De La Soul, Echo and the Bunnymen, Depeche Mode, XTC, Siouxsie Sioux, Shirley Manson, Kirsty MacColl, The Black Crowes, Danzig, Aphex Twin and Morcheeba.
I moved to Boulder, CO during this time to experience a lifestyle with more nature and down to earth people. During the last few years of my record industry life I also earned my B.A. in Counseling Psychology and M.A. in Transpersonal Psychology at Naropa University, where I also studied Buddhism and had a private audience with H.H. Dalai Lama.
After leaving the music industry I joined the emerging startup community where people were passionately coding day and night to disrupt and change the world. It was the same innovating D.I.Y. punk rock spirit that I appreciated while growing up.
More recently, it was time to be in a bigger city with heart which led me to move to Seattle and launch New Tech Seattle with my co-founder Red Russak.
Grace has flowed in my life. New Tech Seattle, my 4th business as a founder, added 3 more cities (and 40+ events a year) to our community, grew into the most fun and fastest growing monthly event group in Meetup history out of 260,000+ event groups internationally, and allows me to do what I love every day. It has even resulted in an invitation to speak at the White House.
Throughout this journey I’ve been an advisor, mentor and coach to many people and companies. Dozens of them through Techstars, Founder Institute, Startup Weekend, Washington Technology Industry Association and LOHAS.
My coaching client base is exclusively executive’s like you because they are high level producers looking to excel even higher. Once you become an executive you’re doing great work that generates impactful ripples throughout your company and with your customers and community. Helping executives like you reach even greater heights is a privilege and a pleasure.
We all have the power to write our own stories. They can be much more easeful, joyful and impactful when we choose them to be.
What’s the next chapter in your story going to be?
“Brett’s expertise has been extremely helpful while planning our latest campaign. He was was able to quickly focus our attention on what matters most in our messaging and communications.”
