What is the problem you’re solving and why is your solution the best way to solve it?
I invested in EmployPlan based on the CTO’s vision and MVP and a shared vision for solving the skill challenges in building project teams.
What is one of the greatest lessons you’ve learned from being a Founder/CEO?
Build value every day for your customers and team.
What is the one piece of advice you would share today with your younger self before you started your company?
Read Emerson, he’s right. “Be careful what you set your heart upon, for it will surely be yours” is a warning to choose the right passions.
What is something interesting and unexpected that people would be surprised to learn about you?
I have no idea what people find surprising, but I do a lot of things people who know me in one aspect of my life have no idea about the others and find it surprising. There are people in the wine industry who are consistently shocked that I work in technology and tech people who are surprised I know quite a bit about champagne and running a restaurant. Others find it surprising that I take on a new hobby each year with the goal of mastering it to competency, but you end up with a lot of surprising hobbies, so I am a pilot, a boater, a motorcyclist, I make fermented pepper sauces, can jams and jellies, make charcuterie, etc. which seems to surprise people.
