Our theme for this month is Diversity In Tech. It’s no secret, companies with more diversity, whether it’s racial, ethnic, or gender, perform better than those with less. We’re excited to invite you to learn about the difficulties, successes, and benefits of diversity in the tech industry, and what we can all do to ensure opportunities are available for all of us, and make diversity the standard, not the exception.
Doors open, get to know your community!
Why Messy is Good presented by Vivian Chan – Vivian will explore in her talk the role of mindset in being resilient. Her non-linear journey will hopefully inspire some reflection in how you shape your definition of success. Vivian has launched 3 waves of disruptive technology from Analytics, Cloud to AR/VR. She now runs Sales, Marketing, HR and Operations at Eyexpo Technology an immersive content platform that will change how we experience cities.
PNW IDEA (Inclusion, diversity, equity and access) presented by Christy Johnson – PNW IDEA is a group founded by Christy bringing together dozens of Seattle professionals working on DEI issues and solutions together. The group meets monthly to share best practices and connect with others working on creating more diverse and inclusive workplaces.
Bizdiversity presented by Samuel Rodriguez – We are an online community of multicultural businesses promoting the ideals of Diversity and Inclusion.
Redefining You Foundation presented by Shellie Willis – Redefining Your Future is a community network for service women, veterans and spouses, transitioning out of the military. It is a community which provides access to local, regional and national resources. Being “redefined” means SHIFTING your thinking and lifestyle to the next phase in life!
